However, the circumstances were not much better in Newark, NJ as they were in Russia. Her family suffered many of the perils that all immigrants of the early 1900's suffered. Molly's story isn't all bad though, her uplifting attitude along with her perseverance allowed her to conquer all of the challenges that she faced.

About the Author

Molly Pollack was born Malke Sherman in a small village near the Russian-Polish border in 1910. At age 10, Malke escaped from Russia in the midst of the Bolshevik Revolution and immigrated to the United States. After she arrived, the American Customs Agents changed her name to Molly. Molly led a successful life in America. She started her own business, married her true love and had four children, Robert, Elizabeth, Marilyn, and Eleanor. Molly passed away in 1982.
