A Time for Reason 'n Rhyme, as an anthology of both prose and poetry, spans many years in time as do the age of those contributors who have penned them. The collection is divided into sections, which are preceded by the words, A Time For....Family, Friends, Dancin', Living Life, Soul Searching, This 'n That, and Givin' and Receivin'. Prose, functioning as reasons, describes the purpose of the section and/or the circumstances under which the poet set the theme for his/her topic. There is a gamut of emotions found in this collection-some happy, some sad, some tender, some humorous. Yet, there may just be that golden nugget of wisdom uncovered with which a response is modified in that season of time one may meet in the adventure called life. Now it is time to take that journey.

Kay A. Davis was born in Ashland, Oregon in early November 1942. In the fall of 1947, she moved with her family to Mesilla, New Mexico, where she spent her growing up years. Kay began writing poetry and prose during her school age years, competing in local writing contests. In the mid-70's, she served as editor-typist for several hundred students and professors from New Mexico State University, who completed their masters' theses, doctoral dissertations and professional publications. In the mid-80's, she was editor/publisher of Arizona Follow the Sun, a magazine for Square and Round Dancers and Cloggers. She was listed in Who's Who in Arizona. Kay received CLOG's Right Attitude Award, and an Editor's Choice Award. After her 28-year marriage ended in divorce in 1990, she used the next few years for self-discovery. Although she worked many years as an administrative secretary for architects, engineers, or behavioral health medical personnel, she is fully retired. Kay now devotes the majority of her time to writing poetry and prose.
