Jacalyn Lund is a professor and chair in the department of kinesiology and health at Georgia State University in Atlanta. She taught for 16 years before entering the doctoral programme at Ohio State University to prepare for a second career in teacher education. She received her PhD in 1990. Mary Lou Veal, began her teaching career as a primary school physical education teacher in Dallas, Texas. She taught physical education for 16 years to all age groups from primary to sixth form.
