About the Author

The author had just settled down to retirement, with his allotment and jazz clubs, and not to mention the casinos. Working life had taken in military service and many years as a qualified psychiatric nurse.

On returning from his ninth visit to Las Vegas in early 2009, he was stopped in his tracks by an extraordinary idea; to write a book on Roulette.

He had not stuffed his pockets full of the casinos money, so how can he possibly write such a book. Well! The casinos had not stuffed their pockets full of his money either. `And it`s been damn good fun over the last twenty five years.

You get to see a lot at the roulette table, if you keep your eyes peeled. As individuals, we all perceive things differently. The author gives his hard hitting view of it all, in easy to read sections.

He reveals a gamblers insight into Las Vegas. A gambler who wants to play roulette and blackjack for hours and hours each day with a low budget bankroll.

From the Back Cover

Glitter Gulch

Now known as the Fremont Street Experience, or Downtown Las Vegas, or just Fremont (Street). It is a noisy, bustling place, unless you are pottering around in the dead of night when you very nearly have it all to yourself.

The first thing that hits you is this enormous roof thing. At regular intervals during the evening, the sky lights up, or more like explodes, with these spectacular audio-visual shows. If you are deaf, you will hear it, if you are not deaf, you soon will be. I could well do without it, but it does keep me dry when I am casino hopping.

It links seven casinos together, as well as some well stocked gift shops, a chemist, and an ATM. It is not everybody's cup of tea, but for the low rolling gamblers, and the boozed up, and the party revellers, and the destitute, it is pretty good fun.

Most of the roulette chips are $1, but you can find 50 cents tables, and even 25 cents tables, and there is a good local touch to these casinos.

These casinos have been around for donkeys' years - unlike the Strip, where they get bored with them very quickly and blow them up.
