About the Author

You may know John Carleo from Total Gym infomercials with Chuck Norris and Christie Brinkley. He was born January 17, 1945 in Braddock, Pennsylvania. He was premature and was not expected to live. He was so frail and underweight throughout his childhood and into his teen years that he was picked on and made fun of constantly. He was given nicknames like Splinter, Toothpick, and Zipper. Zipper is the name that he disliked the most. The bullies would make him stand sideways and stick out his tongue. Then they would laugh and say, "Look it's a walking, talking zipper." He was the butt of endless wisecracks, physical and mental bullying. Needless to say, he was insecure, had a poor self-image and low self-esteem. If someone would have said to him, "Hey Zipper, hang in there, in the future you're going to win a regional bodybuilding competition, become a State, National and World Drug Free Powerlifting champion, sell exercise equipment to, and train, Hall of Fame professional baseball and football players, appear on national TV commercials with Christie Brinkley, a beautiful world class model, and Chuck Norris, an internationally renowned movie and TV star; he would have thought they were just making fun of him as usual. However, he has done all of those things because he made up his mind to change his life. John has spent over 38 years motivating others to improve their lives through exercise, nutrition and a positive mental attitude. Now his years of experience and knowledge are available to you in this book.
