About the Author
Heather Silyn-Roberts, BSc Hons (1st class), PhD, is Senior Lecturer in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at The University of Auckland. She has taught science and engineering documentation at undergraduate level for 21 years; run annual courses on scientific communication at international graduate schools at major universities and Max Planck Research Institutes in Germany and Switzerland for 15 years; and run more than 500 one-day consulting programmes in effective documentation for major engineering organisations.
She has written three books on science and engineering writing: for professional engineers; for postgraduate students and junior professionals; and for undergraduates. Her books have also appeared in Japanese and Chinese editions.
