Swami Satchidanand learned Hatha Yoga at 14, Pranayama at 21 and Meditation at 28 and was taught meditation directly by Zen Master Hogen Daido Yamahata of Japan and by Swami Satchidanand Tamil Siddhar of South India and Yogiraj of Swami Sivananda of Rishikesh. He met and had Spiritual experiences with Shri Yogendra of Bombay, Bendictine Monk, Father Bede Griffiths of Shantivanam on the banks of the River Cauvery in Tamil Nadu, and Shri Sathya Sai Baba of Prasanthi Nilayam.
