Synopsis

At the height of the feminist movement Terry Martin Hekker?s book, EVER SINCE ADAM AND EVE, served as a counterpoint as she trumpeted the joys of motherhood and homemaking. Critics hailed it as ?often profound and always hilarious . . . a warm and realistic view of womanhood.? They said, ?the fact that she framed her message in laughter does not lessen the depth of her vision.? Publisher?s Weekly called it ?a gem.? Decades later Terry?s unforeseen divorce and subsequent reawakening has resulted in a more forceful story, asking readers to ?disregard? that first anachronistic book. This follow-up offers the same mixture of wit and wisdom as she tackles issues of an aging generation who lived through the cataclysmic changes fostered by the feminist and sexual revolutions. Young women facing decisions about marriage and careers will be guided by her cautionary tale. And older men and women will enjoy her amusing odyssey of hope and love punctuated by uproarious anecdotes about her big Irish family.
