Laura A. Whitlock is Assistant Professor of Physics at Louisiana State University in Shreveport. After many years as a high-energy astrophysicist on various NASA projects, she turned her talents to education. She now teaches a variety of courses in physics and astronomy. After attending the NSF Chautauqua Course "Radio Astronomy in the Undergraduate Classroom" at MIT Haystack Observatory in 2004, she became inspired to learn more about the subject and develop a lecture-lab course in it for the students at LSUS. Kiley Pulliam is a first-year graduate student in Physics at Tulane University in New Orleans. She graduated with a BS in Physics and minors in Mathematics and Philosophy from Centenary College of Louisiana in Shreveport. She became involved in this project while taking a Radio Astronomy course taught by Dr. Whitlock.
