Synopsis

WOODMYTH & FABLE FOREWORD Most boys gather in the woods pretty and odd bits of moss, fungus, and other treasures that have no price. They bring them home and store them in that universal receptacle, the Tackle-box. Some boys, like myself, never outgrow the habit. One day a friend observed that my Tackle-box was full and suggested that a selection be given to the public. Most of this booty I gathered in the woods myself, but an Indian gave me fragments of "The Recipe" and " Gitch-e O-kok-o-hoo," and a Chinaman told me where to find "The Frog in the Well."

Paperback. Condition: New. Print on Demand. This evocative collection of fables, observations, and vignettes seeks to reveal the patterns and meaning found in the natural world. The author, an ardent naturalist and keen observer of his surroundings, draws on nature to offer insights into the interconnectedness of all living beings, and the ways in which life's complexities may be illuminated by the natural world. With timeless wisdom, the author combines the story -telling traditions of Native American folklore with Western philosophical thought. He aims to provoke readers to consider broader implications hidden within the seemingly simple, and to challenge the reader into reconsidering their own perspectives. Ultimately, this book seeks to demonstrate the significance and power of the natural world as a source of guidance, wisdom, and harmony in an ever-changing and complex society. This book is a reproduction of an important historical work, digitally reconstructed using state-of-the-art technology to preserve the original format. In rare cases, an imperfection in the original, such as a blemish or missing page, may be replicated in the book. print-on-demand item. Seller Inventory # 9781440055577_0
