Synopsis

One Stitch at a Time is a beginners activity kit that shows kids how to make soft toy animals. It includes a detailed, heavily illustrated instruction manual with templates to trace and cut out, step-by-step directions for completing five different stuffed-animal projects, and ideas for embellishing and enlivening finished stuffed animals with colorful buttons, bows, and ribbons. Complementing the book in this portfolio-style package is a sewing box filled with materials kids can use to make a finished, handsomely decorated stuffed cat. The boxed items include:

  • Sections of cloth in a variety of bright colors
  • Soft polyester stuffing
  • Buttons, and ribbons to decorate the completed cat

The book also presents detailed, step-by-step directions for making several more attractive stuffed animals: a dog, a rabbit, a bear, and a mouse.
