After 24 years of marriage, Pat and her husband decide to divorce. With three children in college and one in elementary school, the family strives to remain close while being geographically scattered. Pat's challenge is to survive on her own after being a full-time mother and homemaker. She becomes a professional nanny/executive home manager, which takes her into the homes of prominent people with unusual, exciting lives. For years, Pat has felt something is missing. Now in her mid-40s, she begins taking college classes, writing, traveling and attending self-growth seminars to seek spiritual guidance and inner peace. Ironically, in the midst of her searching, she remains a solid anchor for everyone around her. While she looks for answers, Pat begins to realize life isn't all about a golden prize of wisdom at the end of a rainbow, it's about learning as we navigate through both sunshine and storms. Through it all, she continues keeping a daily journal and saving letters written to and by her family members, a tradition her mother started decades before. Literature of Life is a true story told through these documents and is the second book in a series that started with Legacy of Letters.

After enjoying motherhood while raising four children, Patsy Gilbert Coleman launched a career as a professional nanny and executive home manager. Born in rural Mississippi, Pat began developing her writing talents at an early age, eventually dedicating herself to her longtime dream of becoming an author. A collection of letters saved throughout the years has helped her chronicle her family's history in a series of books. Pat lives in Winter Park, Florida, where she continues to write when she's not reading, singing, ballroom dancing, seeing friends or spending as much time as possible with her nine grandchildren.
