Jessie Bishop Powell grew up in rural Ohio. She now lives in Montgomery, Alabama with her husband and their two children. She has Masters degrees in English and Library Science from the University of Kentucky.
She and her children have Asperger's syndrome, though they experience it differently than the book's characters William and Sara, who are entirely fictitious. You can find the first Rue and Lakeland Mystery, The Marriage at the Rue Morgue, at many local libraries.
