About the Author

Jacqueline (Jacquie) Switzer was born in Rochester, New York. She attended Catholic elementary and high schools, and graduated from Nazareth College with a BA in Latin. She taught in Rochester for three years before moving to Charleston, West Virginia. Jacquie taught Latin and English in Charleston area public schools for thirteen years. She has a Masters in Industrial Relations and a Masters in Instructional Communications. She is currently an assistant principal in a middle school. Jacquie serves on a number of community boards, was a founder of the WV Center for Dispute Resolution, and is a lector and minister for the sick in her parish. She strives daily to live the ideals that she learned from her late husband.
