Karen McGuigan Brothers recently retired from the Reading and Writing Development Center at Kent State University, where she served as the liaison for teachers and parents. In addition to co-authoring The Poet and the Professor: Poems for Building Reading Skills, she has written children's poems for numerous other publications.
