Synopsis
Human belief systems begin and are reinforced through our acceptances of basic concepts or premises. Through our understanding, rejection or affirmation of a particular premise, our perceptions of the world are refined, disintegrated and reformed. If we accept the premise that our strongest power is our personal power, that no one can take it away from us, and we are the only destroyers or creators of that power, then no obstacle in our paths could affect us negatively. If we reject that premise, then we are at the mercy of our environmentas every challenge. Broken Premises is a collection of poems reflecting on empowering beliefs that present times can develop and use productively in the world. This book serves as a reminder that we all engage in challenging environments; stresses outside of our control do manifest, but the power to overcome, learn and thrive is within all of us.
