The Principles of Teaching represents what I have learned about the art of teaching over the course of my thirty year career. The principles I include in the book are meant to be both a practical guide and an inspiration to teachers who are just entering the profession. I also believe teachers at any stage of their career may find this book useful.

About the Author
Jim Turner has a master's in U.S. history, was historian for the Arizona Historical Society, and teaches Arizona history at several local colleges. He is co-author of The Arizona Story (a Gibbs Smith textbook), has written for Arizona Highways, The Journal of Arizona History, and The Capitol Times; and contributes a monthly column, "Life in the Old Pueblo," to The Arizona Daily Star.
