Dr. Lebowitz realizes how difficult it is to get proper medical care. The health care system in America is a huge bureaucracy. It is placing many obstacles in the way of patients trying to stay healthy. This book will assist you in obtaining the best medical care possible. There are sections on prevention and treatment of heart disease, diabetes, HIV, and hyperlipidemia. Dr. Lebowitz also discusses obesity and gives invaluable advice on dieting, weight loss, and exercise. There are other chapters devoted to obtaining health insurance and finding the Physician that will be right for you.The many years of experience as a Physician have given Dr. Lebowitz keen insight into different diseases. He discusses the illnesses in the context of treating patients. He reveals how he arrives at a diagnosis of an illness. He also tells you how to get the best treatment for certain diseases. This was clearly portrayed in the evaluation of a young woman coming into the office in a semi-comatose state.
