Often poignant, humorous, thought provoking and introspective, Levin’s seductive style of writing draws you into his story in a most intimate way flying in the cockpit with him through the clouds, diving on enemy targets, dodging anti-aircraft fire and during gut wrenching emergencies. All age groups can read this book. It is comfortable, sometimes humorous entertainment that also presents some provocative issues about marriage, divorce, children, out of body experiences and even UFOs.

Between the train ride South to Pensacola for Naval Aviation flight training to retirement from the Marine Corps as a Lieutenant Colonel twenty years later, Neil experiences a career mixed with adventure, humor and danger. His dive-bombing destroys an important heavily defended bridge in North Vietnam, a major part of the supply line to the Ho Chi Minh Trail, but his aircraft is hit with anti-aircraft fire. He flies twenty-five miles on fire to reach the Gulf of Tonkin and ejects when the cockpit becomes an inferno. Shot at, while dangling in the parachute, from enemy gunboats, cannon fire from the beach at his raft and swimming among sharks, he wonders if he will see another sunrise.
Lt Col Neil Levin, USMC (Ret) is a Korea and Vietnam War Veteran, United States Marine Corps Combat Top Gun Jet Fighter/Attack Pilot, combat flight Instructor and recipient of the Distinguished Flying Cross with combat “V”, eleven Air Medals, the Purple Heart earned while shot down over North Vietnam, plus numerous additional Combat Medals of Valor. Neil has two daughters and two sons, all from a previous marriage and resides in Oceanside California with his wife Laurie.
