About the Author

Mohamed A. M. Abdel-Rohman, is a Professor of civil engineering at Kuwait University. He received his B.Sc. from Cairo University in 1972, Master and Ph.D. degrees from University of Waterloo, Canada, in 1976 and 1979, respectively. A researcher and one of the pioneers in the area of structural control. Co-authored “Control of Structures” with H. H. Leipholz by Martinus-Nijhoff Publishers, Boston, in 1986. Authored “Control of Nonlinear Oscillations in Civil Structures” published by Kuwait University in 1992 and “Structural Analysis” by Dar-Anashr for Universities, Cairo, in 1998. Received the Engineering Sciences award in 1984 from Abdul-Hameed Shoman Foundation, Jordan, the Distinguished Researcher award from the College of Engineering and Petroleum, Kuwait University in 1996 and 2007, and the Professional Achievement award from ACI-Kuwait Chapter in 2009.
