About the Author
Rudy Valenzuela, RN, MSN, FNP-C, is immediate past-president of the National Association of Hispanic Nurses. He has received the National Hispanic Health Leadership Award from the National Hispanic Medical Association. He works as a family nurse practitioner at the JWCH Clinic at the Weingart Center in Los Angeles, California.
