Isabel Ecclestone Mackay (1875 - 1928) was a Canadian poet, novelist, playwright, and newspaperwoman. She was born in Woodstock, Ontario, and was educated at the Woodstock Collegiate Institute. Mackay began her literary career at the age of fifteen and was soon famous for her brilliant style and the depth of her imagination, both in prose and in verse. Her two poems Marguerite de Roberval, and The Passing of Cadieux were her finest works.
