To Be Forgiven is an exciting and touching story about a rare and precious event. From the first time you meet Veronica to your final good by on the last page you will feel a connection with her as you share her hardships and victories. Life in the early 1800's was not easy for anyone, especially an unwed mother with a reputation for doing things her own way. As you slip into Veronica's story, you will find that her daily struggles can easily found in today's hectic digital world, where rare and precious events are lost in vanity, disbelief, and hopelessness.
Around the world, people will relate to her story. They will cry with her, fear with her, doubt with her and laugh with her. The most wonderful thing about Veronica is that a little piece of her exists in every one of us. Are you brave enough to look for it? Will you know it when you see it and most of all, can you embrace that rare and precious event of opening your mind, seeing your world objectively and changing your heart? Take the challenge and find the qualities in Veronica that ring so true to you.

Kate lives with her husband, daughter, and three cats in Ohio. She always harbored a passion for storytelling, ghost stories to her younger sister and friends or dreaming about jotting those details down for others to read. Kate decided to stop wishing and in January 2002, Veronica's story began to form. She balanced her 'day job' at a leading wireless company, her role as mother to an artistic daughter and wife of a motocross racer and stole 'writing weekends' away to tell the story you are holding now. Kate believes happiness is simply a choice away as her happiness comes from her relationship with Jesus, her family and building novels based on real-life struggles and successes.
