About the Author

Graham Brotherton is a Senior Lecturer in Policy studies at Newman College of Higher Education. He has been actively involved in the development of Foundation Degrees and was previously a worker and manager in a range of health and social care settings.

Steven Parker is a Lecturer at Somerset College where he manages the Higher Education provision within the Division of Social and Professional Studies. He is also an Associate lecturer with the Open University and has worked as a Social Worker in the voluntary and statutory services.
