He was a longtime theatre critic/columnist for Back Stage magazine, is the editor of the Shakespeare publication, quarto, and a Professor at California State University, Fullerton. He is a Ph.D. graduate from the University of Colorado, Boulder, and former Managing Director of the Alabama Shakespeare Festival.
