David Atherton is a food-writer, podcaster and winner of The Great British Bake Off, 2019. David's love of cooking was inspired by his mother’s freshly baked bread and cakes every week. His passion for food led to a career in healthcare as an international health advisor, spending time in UK Aid-funded hospitals overseas. David’s mother’s home cooking, inspiration from his travels and his knowledge in nutrition and healthcare inspire his recipes today. David’s beloved series of cook books for children includes My First Cook Book (2020), My First Green Cook Book (2021) My First Baking Book (2022) and My First Christmas Cook Book (2023).
Rachel Stubbs is a London-based illustrator who loves observing human behaviour and interaction. After studying illustration in Falmouth, Cornwall, she went on to work as a freelance illustrator before joining the Cambridge MA in children's picture books to refresh her creative practice. Upon graduating from the MA, Rachel was awarded the Sebastian Walker Award for Illustration.
