About the Authors
Atinuke is a traditional oral storyteller, and the author of over 30 books for children. Most of Atinuke’s books are set on the amazing African continent where she spent her childhood in the country of Nigeria. Atinuke is the author of the best selling fiction series Anna Hibiscus, as well theThe No.1 Car Spotter and Too Small Tola series. Atinuke also writes picture books - including the bestselling Baby Goes to Market illustrated by Angela Brooksbank. Her non-fiction book Africa, Amazing Africa is illustrated by Mouni Fedeg, and Brilliant Black British History is illustrated by Kingsley Nebechi. Onyinye Iwu is a children’s book illustrator, designer and lecturer. In her work, Onyinye focuses on the representation of people of African and Caribbean background. She is the illustrator of Walker's Too Small Tola series by Atinuke. Her debut picture book as an author-illustrator is called African Queens.
