Synopsis

Pia has always told her pony everything...but now he's talking back!

When a band of mysterious travelers sets up camp near Laurel Stables, everyone is shocked at how the newcomers treat their horses. No one at the stables trusts these strangers! When Pia goes spying, she can't help being drawn to Jazz, a girl with real pony-whispering powers. Jazz soon becomes Pia's secret friend-even Drummer likes her! But Jazz may lose her beloved horse forever unless Pia can help her. Will Pia risk her friendships at Laurel Stables for a pony in need?

"This combination of magic and a quick-moving, contemporary plot is a light and enjoyable read. The horses are particularly amusing as they reveal their complaints and requests to their owners through Pia."
-School Library Journal review for The Pony Whisperer: The Word on the Yard
