Synopsis
Jori is born to be a Hearth Queen. Kelan is destined to be Hunt Queen. But Jori loves to hunt while Kelan loves ritual. Change is daunting when even the smallest failures can lead to starvation for a tribe of nomadic women, yet times are indeed changing. Jori's mother, the current Hearth Queen, wants the tribe to try something new; stay in one place and grow their own food.
Can the tribe adjust to such radical change or will Garnet lose the tribe's loyalty? Will the tribe accept that Jori and Kelan desire different destinies than those dictated by tradition? Or will the girls be forced to adopt roles they despise for the sake of peace?
