Following his girlfriend to her new teaching position in Thailand, a young reporter takes a job with one of Thailand's English-language newspapers, where he becomes involved in researching the story of charismatic American anthropologist Martiya van der Leun, following her suicide in the Thai prison where she was serving a lengthy sentence for murder. About the Author
Mischa Berlinski studied classics at the University of California at Berkeley and at Columbia University and has worked as a journalist in Thailand.
