Damit haben wir nun den Chronisten genannt, dessen Bericht erstattung von massgebender Bedeutung geworden ist. In Valerius Anaheim'_s Berner Chronik ist dem Jetzerhandel eine ausser ordentlich eingehende Darstellung gewidmet, die in der Handschrift des Verfassers (blatt 649 - 909 des 2. Bandes) nicht weniger als 260 Seiten füllt. Anaheim war in der Tat in der Lage, hier Vor zügliches zu leisten, einmal, weil er selbst den ganzen Handel in Bern miterlebte, und sodann, weil ihm später die Akten des Pro zesses zur Verfügung standen.
