In the year 1910 there were, according to the Yearbook of the Department of Agriculture, over sheep in the Rocky Mountain and Pacific coast States. Of these something over were grazed on National Forest range. About '7 5 per cent of the sheep grazed on National Forests, or over head, were ewes with lambs. Of the grazed Off the Forests, perhaps one-half were breeding ewes. In other words, there are in the far Western States about head Of breeding ewes.
