Combining life-coaching and screen-acting techniques in one accessible handbook, this helpful guide empowers actors to overcome personal inhibitions and approach their work, characters and careers with confidence. Structured in two parts, the book helps actors to move away from their personal limitations and obstacles and get out of their own way when producing real and believable acting on screen. Part One Moving Away from Yourself develops the actor's freedom, confidence and strength as a person using life-coaching techniques, established personal development theories and practical exercises; while Part Two Moving Towards Someone Else introduces and works with screen acting techniques and tools. Published in partnership with the Actors Centre, A Life-coaching Approach to Screen Acting includes online videos which show hands-on coaching sessions between the author and professional actors, ideal for readers and teachers looking to replicate the method in their own training and classrooms.
