Paperback. Condition: New. Print on Demand. This book examines the influence of pharmaceutical substitution on the reputation of the retailer. In the early days of this practice, wholesalers and retailers were unable to keep the variety and quantities of products demanded by the public, leading to a rise in questionable practices among manufacturers and dealers. Despite the diminished presence of substitution today due to ethical standards in the pharmaceutical profession and increased awareness of its detrimental effects, the book contends that substitution still takes place to some extent as a result of price-cutting and incentives for pushing store-brand products. The author argues that substitution must not be tolerated when filling prescriptions, as it can have serious consequences for patient health and the reputation of the pharmacy. The book highlights the importance of professional integrity and adherence to proper pharmaceutical practices in maintaining public trust in the pharmacy profession.
