Le premier mouvement serait d'en conclure que ces villes, rivières et bourgs n'existent pas et sont pure ment imaginaires; je désire que l'on se tienne en garde contre ce jugement prématuré. Peut - être verra-t-ou plus tard que la fiction tient, dans ce qui va suivre, moins de place qu'il ne semble, et que tout s'y empreint, au contraire, d'une incontestable réalité.
