Excerpt from All the Answers (Almost): A Guide for High School Students in the Boston Public Schools
I am pleased to send you a copy of our just-published handbook for high school students, All The Answers.
All The Answers was designed, written, and produced by my office, with the financial support of the Boston Herald and many other corporate sponsors. That generosity has enabled us to give a copy to every high school student, and the response from teachers, parents, and students has been very positive. [we have even received calls from suburban and private school systems eager for copies] In many ways, this book is symbolic: It represents the quality of work that an urban school system can produce and that its students deserve. For many of our students, it represents access to the myriad of unique programs and opportunities available in Boston.
As zone superintendent, I hope to restructure our high schools so that we begin to deliver the best education in the best setting for all of our students. All The Answers also represents one of the first steps to that end.
I look forward to hearing your comments. Please feel free to call my office anytime, (617) 442-0069.
