For in their reviews of this first volume a few of the reviewers were facetious, or they aspired to that estate, the majority were serious, and not a few of them were appreciative. So that, with this solitary exception, none of these reviewers evinced in their criticisms the disorders which have vented themselves in this remarkable outburst of bile.
