Excerpt from A Contribution to the Geology of the Pre-Cambrian Igneous Rocks of the Fox River Valley, Wisconsin
The outliers vary Widely in areal extent and elevation. They indicate that the early Huronian continent had not been reduced to a base-level at the time of the deposition of the early Paleozoic formations. It is very probable that some of the outcrops, at least, rose a thousand feet above the shore line of the early Pale ozoic sea.

Paperback. Condition: New. Print on Demand. This book, the result of extensive study and analysis of a group of early Huronian igneous rock occurrences, uncovers evidence of a once vast volcanic terrain existing before the Paleozoic period. The author's investigation into the rocks' metamorphic characteristics reveals a complex history of surface conditions, extrusion, and tectonic activity. The chemical composition of the analyzed rocks indicates volcanic activity across a broad region now marked by isolated outcrops, an area since folded, metamorphosed, and weathered. Given the activity exhibited by these rocks in the Precambrian era, the author presents a solid foundation for further research into the geological development of the area, offering insights into the early history of our planet's landscape.
