Excerpt from Compressed Air Magazine, Vol. 20: January to December, 1915
This arrangement suggested high economy to begin with, since to have continually com pressed fresh air from the atmosphere, dcliv ering it at 100 lh., would have required a compressor of five or six times the volumetric capacity, with two stage compression, inter cooling and all that, with more than a pro portional aggregate of power consumption. The using of the same air continuously also gave control of its condition as to humidity and temperature, which in this case was of great importance.
