This, beyond doubt, was the alpha and omega in those strangely cfiicient ministrations of the apostles. The only door of hope they opened for the despairing sinner was through' a propitiatory sacrifice having stated this doctrine with m markable clearness, as we will hereafter see, they guard it by fearful denunciations against those who attempt to teach some other way of justification. If we, say they, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel, let him be accursed.
