To show how the value of F varies with the.values of the several quantities a, b, c, d, 9, we have computed and plotted a number of values in the curves of figs. 3 and 4. In each case a=c=100 ohms. In the curves of fig. 3 the galvanometer resistance is 20 ohms, while the battery resistance is 0, 6, and 12 ohms in the three curves, respectively.
