This book expounds on a set of projective transformation principles for interior point methods and applies them to an algorithm for finding the weighted center of a polyhedral system. The basic theory is applied to show how the w-center of a polyhedral system can be found. The author presents an algorithm based on the theory, and shows that it converges superlinearly to the w-center; infinitely faster than linearly. The algorithm's search direction is positively proportional to the projected Newton direction. The author then examines an implementation of the algorithm that uses a line search. Finally, the book demonstrates that after a fixed number of iterations, an approximate w-center can be used to construct well-scaled containing and contained ellipsoids centered at the approximate w-center.
