Excerpt from Worker's Compensation
It became necessary in 1908 for some one to be come chairman of the Committee on Jurisprudence and Law Reform of the Minnesota State Bar Asso~ ciation and take up the leadership of the association on legislation to give workers compensation for in juries received in the course of their employment. The Bar Association requested the writer to under take that task; the burdens of private practice pre vented the pursuit of that work as it should be done, yet we yielded to the demand because of the press ing needs of humanity for professional aid, al though it withdrew us, at least temporarily, from the pleasant and fruitful study of another subject.
