AS works of a Similar nature, and on a larger plan, are already in the hands of the public, some apology, per haps, should accompany a request for attention to the following collection of views in Rome and its-vicinity. On this occasion the publisher has only to observe that, executed from drawings made immediately from the oh jects, these views have the merit of peculiar accuracy; that some of them are new, as to their subjects; and that to the classic and consecrated ground, on which the mistress of the world once stood, is attached an interest which cannot easily be exhausted.
