Church, several of the English Minutes and Magazines, and the written journals of the Lower Canada District Meetings have been diligently examined, and Without encumbering the work with numerous references; to these volumes the compiler would here acknowledge his indebtedness, and at the same time tender his hearty thanks to those brethren who have from time to time given him much private information and advice, and who have so kindly and promptly responded by letter to his enquiries.
