Excerpt from Onal Representation
The title-page of this work, before I determined upon the one Which it now bears, gave me no little concern. As the first three and the concluding chapters are origi nal, and the others rewritten, it would have been a mani fest injustice to have printed the work as that of Mr. Hare; but then again I have used so much of Mr. Hare's book, and presented so many of his arguments, that to have left his name out of the title-page would have been, on my part, very like an attempt to obtain credit for what was in part the work of another. A his tory of the origin of this book itself will make clear the reason for the manner in which I have seen proper to present the arguments for totality or personal repre sentation.

Paperback. Condition: New. Print on Demand. This book explores the essential nature and purpose of representative government. The author begins by examining its historical development, tracing its evolution from its origins in ancient Greece to its current forms. He then analyzes the strengths and weaknesses of different representative systems, arguing that the current method of electing representatives fails to ensure that the government truly represents the will of the people. The author proposes a new system of proportional representation, which he believes would more accurately reflect the diversity of public opinion and lead to a more responsive and representative government. The book provides a comprehensive overview of the topic, offering valuable insights into the history, theory, and practice of representative government.
