The covenant with Abraham has this con dition Walk before me, and be thou per-s feét But this condition does not prevent the covenant's being the covenant of grace. For a condition is effential to every real and proper covenant. The covenant of grace, in its moit fimple form, evidently has a condi tion. Ffor thus we read He that believeth and is baptized {hall be faved. Incline your ear and come unto me hear and your foul {hall live and Iwill make an everlafiing cov enant with you, even the fure mercies of Da vid Nofione fulfils this condition and fo has the covenant of grace made with him, ex cept God works in him to will and to do Nor could Abraham, without fpecial grace, walk before God and be perfect, and falhl the condition of the covenant, which God prom ifes to efiabliih with him and his feed.
