Excerpt from Deflections and Statically Indeterminate Stresses
The deformations which an elastic body undergoes when subjected to load may be determined in several ways if the deformations are so small that the loaded structure remains practically similar to the unstressed structure. For a structure built of an elastic material having a unit elongation, for the unit stress used, of the methods of this book would have a high degree of precision, but for a material just as perfectly elastic having a unit elongation of they would have no great value.

Seller: Forgotten Books, London, United Kingdom
Paperback. Condition: New. Print on Demand. This book focuses on statically indeterminate structures and stresses in solid and open web structures. By employing the theory of exure, it offers an accessible approach to understanding how they perform under applied loads. Through the use of various methods, including the differential equation for finding deections of straight beams, the work due to an auxiliary load of unity and more, the book provides a deep understanding of stress and strain analysis for statically indeterminate structures. The author's presentation simplifies complex ideas, making them accessible to a broad range of readers interested in structural mechanics and engineering. This book is a valuable resource for students, practitioners, and researchers seeking to expand their knowledge in the field of structural analysis. This book is a reproduction of an important historical work, digitally reconstructed using state-of-the-art technology to preserve the original format. In rare cases, an imperfection in the original, such as a blemish or missing page, may be replicated in the book. print-on-demand item. Seller Inventory # 9781332053360_0
