But the effect of mixed as a discipline is, I conceive, likely to be answered by the more rigorous scheme of which the University has sanctioned, than treatment of the subject as was then the Historical Illustrations, which ap some interest in the public, are gi completely in the History to which I ferred. William Whewell (1794-1866) was a professor of mineralogy (1828-1832) and moral philosophy (1838-1855) at the University of Cambridge. For twenty-five years he was the Master of Trinity College at Cambridge.
