Excerpt from The Inscriptions of Cos

It is much to be wished that the inscriptions of the more important Greek islands should be published in separate form, as the islands were always, and still are, very distinct com munities, most retentive of their peculiarities. I shall con sider myself rewarded for any labour expended on the present work, if some one caps it with a Corpus of the Rhodian Inscriptions - really a most necessary thing.
